Pakistan’s captain, Younis Khan, chose to bat first after winning the toss. His team scored 156/6 in 20 overs. India successfully chased the target in 19.1 overs. India secured their win. Ambati Rayudu played a crucial role in India’s victory. He scored 50 runs off 30 balls.  The opening pair of Robin Uthappa and Rayudu set the tone for India’s chase. They took on the Pakistan bowlers during the powerplay. Rayudu’s aggressive start in the first over. He faced Aamer Yameen. Bowler conceded a boundary and a six. Uthappa kept up the attack by hitting two boundaries off Yameen in the following over. Unfortunately, he couldn’t carry on and was out by the Pakistan bowler in the same over. Suresh Raina came in at number three and started with a boundary but was caught out by Sohail Tanvir on his second ball, leaving India at 38/2. After losing two quick wickets, Rayudu decided to buckle down and put together a vital 60-run partnership with Gurkeerat Singh Mann. Rayudu reached his fifty in just 29 balls, with India in a strong position at 98/2 after 11 overs. Just when India seemed to be in control, Pakistan fought back by taking two quick wickets, dismissing Rayudu (50 off 30) and Gurkeerat Singh Mann (34 off 33) within ten balls. Pakistan’s fielding errors towards the end of the innings allowed Yusuf Pathan and Yuvraj Singh to survive and build a crucial partnership of 42 runs.
