She had been battling age-related health issues. Yamini was in the ICU for the past seven months, according to her manager and secretary Ganesh. In a recent statement, Modi conveyed his sadness at the passing of Dr. Yamini Krishnamurthy. He praised her exceptional talent and dedication to Indian classical dance. Her dance has inspired many and deeply influenced our cultural heritage. “Her contributions have greatly enriched our cultural legacy. My sincere condolences to her family and followers. Om Shanti,” said the prime minister.
