In the midst of recent speculation surrounding actor Prabhas’ purported donation of ₹50 crore and sponsorship of food expenses for the consecration of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir on January 22, the controversy took a turn when Andhra Pradesh MLA Chirla Jaggireddy endorsed these claims at an event. Jaggireddy asserted that Prabhas had generously agreed to contribute to the temple and also sponsor the meals for those attending the ceremony. However, Prabhas’ team swiftly moved to quash these rumors, labeling them as “fake news” in a statement to India Today. The team clarified that the renowned actor neither made a substantial financial donation nor committed to covering the expenses for the consecration day’s meals.
Despite the MLA’s assertions, Prabhas’ team emphasized that the actor had not received an invitation to the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. This revelation contrasts with reports suggesting that other South Indian actors like Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, and Ram Charan have purportedly received invitations to the event. As the ceremony is scheduled for January 22, with the temple opening for public darshan on January 23, speculation continues to surround the list of anticipated attendees, which includes prominent Bollywood figures such as Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, Jackie Shroff, Amitabh Bachchan, and more.
Prabhas, known for his recent release Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire, is set to feature in upcoming projects like Kalki 2898 AD, Spirit, and The Raja Saab. Amidst a wave of speculation regarding celebrity contributions to the Ram Mandir consecration, Prabhas’ team’s clarification seeks to put an end to the swirling rumors about the actor’s involvement in the significant event.
