Speaking to a people in Baa atoll Eydhafushi, Muizzu asserted that there were rumors going around regarding his government’s “success” in driving out Indian forces from the Maldives.The Indian military personnel are not leaving. Instead, they are coming back after donning civilian clothes instead of their uniforms. According to the official news portal, Muizzu said, “We must not indulge such thoughts. These thoughts instill doubts in our hearts and spread lies.”By May 10, there won’t be any Indian troops in the nation. We will not tolerate any Indian troop even if he is dressed in normal clothes. There will be no clothing worn by the Indian military while they are here. I say this with assurance,” he uttered.
Why are Indian troops posted in Maldives
Using two helicopters and a Dornier aircraft, 88 military troops have been stationed at three Indian platforms for the past few years. The aim behind it is to provide medical and humanitarian evacuation services to the people of the Maldives.
