BCCI officials on this salary policy
This comes after BCCI secretary Jay Shah said players should prioritize domestic games. In February, the BCCI removed the contracts of Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan because they missed domestic matches.Shreyas wasn’t selected for India’s last few Tests against England. Ishan hasn’t played competitive cricket since November. This move by the BCCI is seen as a way to give Test cricket a boost. T20 leagues are very popular now and offer players lots of money. But the BCCI wants players to support Test matches too. The BCCI also started contracts just for fast bowlers. They want to keep developing new pace bowlers for India. This will continue India’s success with fast bowling.
