Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Dwarka Expressway on Monday. It is a Haryana part Dwarka Expressway.

This will help with traffic and congestion between Delhi and Gurugram on NH-48. CM Manohar Lal Khattar and Nitin Gadkari were there during the inauguration.Today marks a significant day for connecting India. 112 National Highways will either be dedicated to the nation or have their foundation stones laid at noon.These initiatives will enhance economic development. It supports our goal of developing advanced infrastructure.
Features of the Dwarka Expressway
The features of the Dwarka Expressway are the following;
- The Dwarka Expressway in Haryana, spanning 19 km, was built at a cost of around Rs. 4,100 crore.
- It consists of two parts: a 10.2 km stretch from Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB).
- It is an 8.7 km section from Basai ROB to Kherki Daula.
- The Gurugram sections of the expressway cover about 19 km, while the Delhi parts total 10 km.
- It starts from Shiv Murti near Mahipalpur on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway. It passes through Dwarka Sector 21, the Gurugram border, Basai. It ends near Kherki Daula on the national highway.
- The Dwarka Expressway is a 14-lane corridor in India. It is completely access-controlled and grade-separated.
- It features four multi-level interchanges, with tunnels, underpasses, ground-level roads, and elevated flyovers.
- One of the notable features is an 8-lane elevated structure. India’s first 4 km long 8-lane tunnel near IGI airport.
- The tunnel is referred to as a ‘shallow tunnel’ due to its less intrusive construction method.
- The starting point of the expressway includes an interchange with two underpasses beneath NH 48.
- It serves over 3 lakh vehicles daily.
- The project aims to ease traffic congestion and reduce pollution in the Delhi NCR area.
- The expressway will provide direct access to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.
- The Gurugram Bypass, improving transportation efficiency in the region.
