As per a recent report from 9to5Mac, Apple analyst Jeff Pu has indicated that Apple is planning to introduce AirPods Lite. It will be launched later this year. In a new investor note shared by Pu, it is mentioned that the apple will increase the production of the long-awaited AirPods variant later in the year. The focus of the report is primarily on the impact of AirPods’ production on the company’s overall supply chain and partners. According to the report, there is expected to be a 4% decrease in demand for the wireless earbuds compared to last year, resulting in an estimated sale of around 55 million units for Apple. This decline in demand is attributed to the muted interest in existing models.

Pu did not provide specific details about AirPods Lite. The renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the upcoming earbuds could be priced at $99. This information aligns with Mark Gurman’s previous statements. He indicates that Apple may introduce two different models of AirPods 4. It will be launched around the time of the iPhone 16 series launch. Both variants are anticipated to feature a refreshed design and USB-C charging support. Only the higher-end model is expected to offer noise cancellation capabilities. Similar to the current AirPods lineup, the AirPods Lite will likely be in-ear headphones. They will be launched with the recognizable white color and stem design. However, it is speculated that the AirPods Lite may lack certain features such as spatial audio and wireless charging, potentially incorporating an older chip instead.
