Telangana news: Know the details of suspension of 106 officers. Telangana news: The Election Commission of India (ECI) suspended a total of 106 Telangana government employees. The reason behind this suspension was for attending an “unauthorised” event. This event was organized by P Venkatram Reddy. He is a former IAS officer. He also holds the seat of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) candidate in Medak.

This event was unauthorized because it was approved by the assistant returning officer. Currently there is an assistant Returning Officer of the Siddipet Assembly Segment in the Medak Parliamentary Constituency.The event was held on April 7, 2024. It was captured on CCTV. ECI found it to be in violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
FIR lodged against Reddy
Subsequently, an FIR was lodged against Reddy and other BRS leaders for organizing the “unauthorized meeting.”The Election Commission suspended a number of government employees. It includes auditors, technical assistants, engineering consultants, computer operators, community coordinators, and assistants to village organizations. A sizable portion of the suspended officials are employed by the Siddipet-based District Rural Development Agency (DRDA). The action was taken in response to a complaint made by BJP candidate M Raghunandan Rao to the Revenue Divisional Officer and Assistant Returning Officer regarding staff members from the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA). All 106 employees were placed on immediate suspension.

Telangana will have one-phase Lok Sabha elections on May 13, 2024, with results expected to be announced on June 4.
