The Indian archery men’s team won the Archery World Cup. This victory ended Korea’s dominance. It boosted India’s chances of qualifying for the Paris Olympics.

Dhiraj, Tarundeep, and Pravin remained calm and focused. They defeated the Koreans without losing a single set. Tarundeep is a 40-year-old Army man. He had previously won a gold medal in the Shanghai World Cup Stage 4 in 2010 with a different team. India emerged victorious in a fierce battle against the top-two seeds. India secured a 5-1 victory. India added five gold medals to their tally in the Stage 1 World Cup. Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj also shined. They defeated the Mexican team 6-0 to claim the bronze medal.
Deepika Kumari shines with silver medal
Deepika Kumari is making a comeback after missing the 2023 season due to motherhood. Unfortunately she settled for a silver in the women’s recurve individual event. Despite starting as the 30th seed, she managed to eliminate two Korean opponents on her way to the final.Deepika struggled in the championship match. She ultimately failed to Hangzhou Asian Games winner Lim Sihyeon in a clean sweep 6-0 (26-27, 27-29, 27-28).Deepika didn’t do well in the final match, as her second arrow landed in the seven-point red ring.The 20-year-old Lim only lost one point in the second set. Lim secured the gold medal easily.In total, India brought home eight medals — five gold, two silver, and one bronze — from the international competition.
