Know the details about the Chandrayaan 4 landing site. Nilesh Desai is the boss of the Space Applications Centre (SAC). He just revealed that India’s cool Chandrayaan-4 mission is gonna try to land near the super cool Shiv Shakti Point on the Moon’s surface.
Chandrayaan 4 landing site
This mission wants to bring back rocks and dirt from the Moon to India. Desai spilled the beans about this during a recent talk about what the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) plans to do in the future when it comes to exploring the Moon. The Shiv Shakti Point is a big deal because that’s where Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander landed before. It’s super important because it’s close to the Moon’s south pole. There might be water ice hiding in the dark areas there.
Chandrayaan 4 aim
Chandrayaan-4 will be able to conduct research. It will potentially collect samples from these scientifically valuable areas by landing in close proximity to them. According to Desai, the mission will have a lifespan of one lunar day, which is approximately 14 Earth days. The reason for this limited time frame is the challenging conditions on the lunar surface, where extreme temperature fluctuations and lack of sunlight during the lunar night present significant obstacles for long-term operations. The Chandrayaan-4 mission will be a complex endeavor. It involves multiple launches and spacecraft modules. Isro intends to utilize two separate rockets – the heavy-lift LVM-3 and the reliable PSLV – to transport various payloads for the mission. This approach is unprecedented for Isro and underscores the ambitious nature of the mission.
