Agnikul Cosmos achieved a significant milestone in India’s private space industry with the successful launch of its agnibaan SOrTeD mission. Agnibaan Sorted This demonstration of a single-stage launch vehicle powered by a semi-cryogenic 3D-printed engine lasted around two minutes. It showcased a major advancement in indigenous space technology development for both the company and the nation. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) extended its congratulations to the Chennai-based space start-up. ISRO hailed the launch as a noteworthy achievement. Agnibaan sorted mission launch date The Agnibaan SOrTeD mission was initially planned for April 7 but delayed due to technical issues. Now it is successfully launched from ALP-01. It is India’s first private launchpad. It is situated at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The mission showcased a 6.2-meter-tall launch vehicle with a curved nose cone. It also incorporated advanced avionics architecture and autopilot software developed internally.It powers the vehicle with the Agnilet engine. Agnilet engine is the world’s pioneering single-piece 3D-printed semi-cryogenic rocket engine. Throughout the mission, a series of precise maneuvers, including a pitch-over maneuver and wind biasing. These were executed before the vehicle safely landed in the Bay of Bengal.Aim of the Agnibaan sorted mission The achievement of a successful launch by SOrTeD. It signifies a notable advancement for Agnikul Cosmos in its pursuit of the lucrative small satellite launch market. The valuable data obtained from this mission will play a crucial role in refining the development of the Agnibaan launch vehicle.This vehicle is anticipated to possess high levels of customization and the ability to transport a payload weighing 300kg to an orbit of 700km.
