The BJP has secured an impressive third consecutive victory in Arunachal Pradesh. BJP won 38 seats. BJP lead in 7 others, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI) data. BJP won in Arunachal Pradesh In Sikkim, the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) has emerged victorious. SKM secured 20 out of 32 seats. SKM is on track for a landslide win over its rival, the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF). The SKM is also leading in 11 seats, according to the ECI figures. The National People’s Party (NPEP) has won two seats. It is ahead of three others in Arunachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) has secured two seats, and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is leading in three seats. Independents have won one seat and are leading in two more, as per the ECI data.SKM won in the Sikkim The SKM has achieved the majority mark and is currently leading in 11 seats. On the other hand, Pawan Kumar Chamling’s SDF has only managed to secure one seat thus far. Pema Khandu is the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and a BJP leader. He is poised to secure his third term, just like his Sikkim counterpart and the SKM’s leader, Prem Singh Tamang. Tamang contested from Rhenock and Soreng-Chakung. He has emerged victorious in the former with a margin of 7,044 votes and is currently leading in the latter. Lok sabha elections polls On April 19, both Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim held their elections, with Sikkim recording a voter turnout of 79.88 percent and Arunachal Pradesh witnessing 82.95 percent voting. In Sikkim, the main competition was between the ruling SKM party and Pawan Kumar Chamling’s SDF party. The BJP and Congress also put forward their candidates for the elections in this northeastern state. Out of the 146 contestants in Sikkim, notable candidates included Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, his wife Krishna Kumari Rai, former Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling, former Indian footballer Bhaichung Bhutia, and BJP’s Narendra Kumar Subba.
