In the ranking, Mumbai has surged 11 places to secure the 136th position, while Delhi has climbed four spots to 164.On the other hand, Chennai has slipped five places to 189. Bengaluru has dropped six spots to 195, and Hyderabad has maintained its position at 202. In the meantime, Pune has experienced a rise of eight spots to 205, and Kolkata has advanced four spots to 207. In the Asian context, Mumbai is positioned as the 21st most expensive city, with Delhi following closely in the 30th spot among the locations surveyed. Despite the prevailing global economic challenges, India has exhibited resilience in our 2024 Cost of Living Survey. Even with the increase in Mumbai’s ranking, the overall affordability of Indian cities continues to be a major attraction for multinational organizations or Indian companies seeking to lure global talent.
