According to the Princeton Alumni Weekly, student protesters decided to set up tents in the McCosh Courtyard of the University on Thursday morning, even though they were warned not to by the authorities. Shortly after, the two students were taken into custody. It caused the protesters to pack up their tents. However, they continued their demonstration by sitting in. Throughout the day, the number of people participating in the sit-in protest grew from around 110 to approximately 300. Jennifer Morrill is a spokesperson for Princeton University. He confirmed the events of Thursday. He stated that the two graduate students were arrested because they ignored multiple warnings from the Department of Public Safety to stop their activities and leave the area.
