Of this, local reports have stated that at least nine nine students have been killed. Among the victims is the suspected shooter, who died by suicide after the incident.

Citing Mayor Elke Kahr (KPÖ), the Austrian Press agency has reported that 10 people died in an attack at a Graz school. Of this, several were students and one adult, likely a teacher at the school. The suspect was also among the dead.
Austrian state media ORF has reported that the suspected shooter is believed to be a student at the school. The suspect is reported to have died by suicide after shooting himself in the school toilet.
Officials condemn shooting
Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker, who is heading to Graz, called the school shooting “a national tragedy that deeply shocks our whole country.”
“The news of the shooting rampage in #Graz shocks me deeply. It’s incomprehensible and unbearable. My sympathy and grief go out to the victims and their families. No one can imagine the suffering; as a mother of three children, it breaks my heart,” stated Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger on social media platform BlueSky.
EU top diplomat Kaja Kallas stated that she was “deeply shocked” after hearing reports of the shooting. “Every child should feel safe at school and be able to learn free from fear and violence,” Kallas posted on X. “My thoughts are with the victims, their families and the Austrian people in this dark moment,” she added further.
School evacuated, area cordoned off
Following the attack, the Graz school has been evacuate. The students were taken to the nearby Helmut List Hall, where they received treatment from the Red Cross.
The incident has also prompted police officials to cordon off the area and divert public transport.
As per local reports, the shooting began at 10 AM. After gunshots were heard in the school, the public was advised to avoid the area and seek shelter indoors.
