The eagerly awaited third installment of the ‘Avatar’ series, titled ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, is scheduled to hit theaters on December 19, 2025, directed by James Cameron. While no footage from the upcoming movie was shown, Cameron did share some concept art for ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’. It showcased Neytiri (Saldaña) dancing in flames and riding banshees. Cameron remarked, “You will discover much more of Pandora that has never been explored before. It promises to be an incredible adventure and a visual feast, but it also carries a deeper emotional resonance than ever. We are delving into truly challenging territory for all the beloved characters,” as reported by Variety. According to the publication, James Cameron is set to return as the director for the upcoming Avatar film. This film has been scripted by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Avatar fire and ash cast Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña will reprise their respective roles, with the film slated for release on December 19, 2025. Additionally, Disney and 20th Century Studios have announced plans for two more Avatar films: ‘Avatar 4’ is scheduled for December 21, 2029, and ‘Avatar 5’ is expected to be released on December 19, 2031. The original ‘Avatar’ film, released in 2009, remains the highest-grossing film of all time. Its sequel, ‘Avatar: Way of Water’. It premiered in December 2022. It ranks as the third highest-grossing film in history.
