She surpassed the previous record. It was a 55.12 seconds record held by American athlete Breanna Clark.

She was born in Kalleda village in Warangal district of Telangana. Her parents worked as daily wage laborers. Deepthi achieved a remarkable feat by clinching the 400m T20 gold at the Hangzhou Asian Games last year. She set an Asian record of 56.69 seconds. Notably, Deepthi has showcased her talent by competing against able-bodied athletes in both junior and senior championships. She has earned numerous medals at the junior level while competing alongside athletes without disabilities. Her most recent participation in an able-bodied senior competition was at the 2022 National Inter-State Championships in Chennai, where she competed in the 100m and 200m events. Prior to that, Deepthi also competed against able-bodied athletes at the 2021 National Senior Inter-State Championships in Patiala, where she secured a bronze medal in the 200m event.
