The inaugural underground Metro line in Mumbai is also known as the Aqua Line. It is scheduled to commence operations on July 24, as announced by BJP leader Vinod Tawde. Mumbai metro Aqua line This 33.5-kilometre route is also referred to as the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Line. It will establish a vital link between south Mumbai and the western suburbs. It provides a much-needed alternative to the congested suburban railway network. Tawde expressed his enthusiasm for the project in a social media post. He describes it as a catalyst for the city’s progress. He attributed the success of the initiative to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication to enhancing the quality of life for the residents of Mumbai. The Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) recently completed the testing of the rolling stock for Metro Line 3. It marked a significant milestone in the development of the project.The commencement of the inaugural underground section of the Mumbai Metro marks a momentous achievement. A substantial portion of the funding for this project has been provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), with the overall expenditure projected at Rs 37,276 crore. Earlier this year, the Union government sanctioned a JICA loan amounting to Rs 21,280 crore. The introduction of the Aqua Line holds the promise of alleviating traffic congestion. It enhances the commuting experience for the residents of Mumbai. It is equipped with a modern and comfortable design and complete with air-conditioned compartments. The Metro is poised to emerge as a preferred mode of transportation in the bustling city.
