In a surprising turn of events, Gulf countries, excluding the UAE, have officially banned the release of the much-anticipated movie ‘Fighter’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. The reason behind this ban remains unknown, disappointing fans who were eagerly awaiting the film’s release.
Girish Johar, a producer and film expert, confirmed the ban on his respective social media account, highlighting the unexpected setback for the movie’s international screening. Directed by Siddharth Anand, known for films like ‘War’ and ‘Bang Bang,’ ‘Fighter’ showcases Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone as Squadron Leaders Patty and Minni. The movie, set against the backdrop of the Balakot airstrike, features thrilling sequences involving fighter jets and helicopters combating Pakistani terrorists.
Despite the ban in some Gulf countries, ‘Fighter’ has not faced restrictions in the UAE, adding a layer of mystery to the situation. The film, with a runtime of 2 hours and 46 minutes, has received a U/A certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and was crafted with a budget of Rs 250 crore. Siddharth Anand, addressing potential concerns about CBFC demands, expressed confidence in the movie’s organic narrative, emphasizing the adherence to guidelines while creating a compelling cinematic experience.
