The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad achieved the highest rank among top-performing institutes in India, with 64 other universities and institutes from the country making it to the Global 2000 list for 2024.IIM Ahmedabad moved up 9 positions to secure the 410th rank. The Indian Institute of Science dropped 7 places to claim the 501st position.The report highlights that despite India’s increased research output, it has not translated into equivalent success in higher education. However, when examining the movement within the ranking ladder, it was discovered that Indian institutions had mixed results this year. Specifically, 33 institutions experienced a decline in their rankings, while 32 institutions moved up.

It is now standing at the 568th rank.On the other hand, both IIT Delhi and IIT Kharagpur were recognized as top ten performers for the year. IIT Madras also experienced a decline. It descended 12 spots to secure the 582nd position. Similarly, the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research descended 26 spots. It secured the 606th rank.
