In a bizarre twist that seems ripped straight from the crime shows she once acted in, a TV actress has found herself on the wrong side of the law. Shabreen, known for her roles in popular true crime series like “Crime Patrol,” was arrested on Sunday for allegedly kidnapping her lover’s young nephew in Maharashtra’s Palghar district.
The story reads like a tragic soap opera. Shabreen had been in a relationship with Brijesh Singh for years, but his family opposed their union due to religious and caste differences. Frustrated by her failed attempts to win over Brijesh’s family, Shabreen allegedly took drastic action.
On Saturday, she showed up at the school of Brijesh’s 3-and-a-half-year-old nephew, Prince. Using her familiarity with the boy, she easily convinced him to leave with her, telling school authorities she was taking him for medical treatment. It wasn’t until later that day, when Prince’s worried family couldn’t find him, that the alarm was raised.
What followed was a frantic search operation. Police scanned CCTV footage, questioned witnesses, and traced Shabreen’s mobile phone location. Their efforts paid off when they finally arrested her in Bandra and rescued Prince from a flat in Naigaon where he was being held.
Senior police officer Jayaraj Ranawane described Shabreen’s state of mind, saying she was so infatuated with Brijesh that she “lost awareness of her actions.” The irony of an actress from crime shows committing such an act wasn’t lost on the authorities.
But the plot thickens. Police are now investigating whether Brijesh himself might have been involved in the kidnapping. He was reportedly seen with an unidentified woman around the time of the incident, adding another layer of mystery to this real-life crime drama.
As the investigation continues, this case serves as a stark reminder that sometimes, reality can be stranger – and sadder – than fiction. It’s a cautionary tale about the dangers of obsession and the lengths some people might go to for love, leaving us all to wonder: how thin is the line between acting out crime and committing it?
