Neeraj Chopra will lead India in Paris Olympic 2024

India announced a 28-member athletics team for the Paris Olympics. This team will be led by star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra. Another athlete, long jumper Jeswin Aldrin is likely to be added later by the national federation. Neeraj Chopra will lead team India in Paris Olympic The 26-year-old gold medalist from the Tokyo Games and current world champion in javelin throw has opted out of the final Diamond League event in Paris this weekend to focus on preparing for the Olympics. The team consists of 17 men and 11 women. It includes Asian Games champions Avinash Sable, Tajinderpal Singh Toor, and sprint hurdler Jyothi Yarraji. Jeswin Aldrin is a top Indian long jumper. He is likely to join the team soon after the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) informs the world governing body about M Sreeshankar’s withdrawal. Sreeshankar had initially met the qualifying mark but had to pull out of the Olympics due to an injury. Aldrin is currently ranked 33rd in the World Athletics (WA) ranking quota list. He is just outside the qualification range. In the men’s long jump event at the Paris Olympics, there will be 32 athletes competing.
