During their Group C match against Afghanistan the West Indies team displayed an exceptional performance. Nicholas Pooran and Johnson Charles, the dynamic duo, managed to match the record for the most runs scored in an over in T20Is. This extraordinary feat occurred when Azmatullah bowled the 4th over of the innings. Pooran’s aggressive approach was evident from the very first ball. On the very first ball, he smashed for a six. Azmatullah’s subsequent no ball was punished by Pooran with a boundary. Pooran wasted no time by hitting the bowler for a six on the very first ball. Azmatullah then bowled a no ball Pooran capitalized it by hitting a boundary.  The bowler felt the pressure as Pooran was eventually bowled out, but it was a free hit. The bowlers seemed tired from the onslaught, with Azmatullah conceding four more runs for leg byes.  Pooran continued his aggressive play by hitting the Afghan bowler for a four and two more sixes. This resulted in 36 runs being scored off a single over, allowing West Indies to achieve the highest-ever powerplay score in the T20 World Cup. It was 93 runs. Omarzai’s over included 10 extras. It consisted of 5 wides, a no-ball, and four leg-bye runs. Nicholas Pooran equalled the record of Yuvraj Singh  Pooran’s aggressive batting performance allowed him to join a prestigious group, which includes three Indian cricketers. Yuvraj Singh was the pioneer in this remarkable feat, as he became the first batsman to hit six sixes in an over against England’s Stuart Broad, scoring a total of 36 runs.  Additionally, the list includes Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh, who also achieved the same feat by scoring 36 runs in an over against Afghanistan’s Karim Janat.
