NITI Aayog has initiated the ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan’ today, with a remarkable turnout of citizens from all over the country. Launch events have been held in each of the 112 Aspirational Districts and 500 Aspirational Blocks. Sampoornata Abhiyan launch dateThis extensive campaign is scheduled to run from 4th July to 30th Septembe 2024. It is aimed at achieving complete coverage of 12 key social sector indicators in all Aspirational Districts and Blocks. The inaugural day of the campaign saw the active involvement of numerous district and block-level officials, frontline workers, community leaders, local artists, students, and local representatives (Block Pramukhs/Sarpanchs) from Jammu and Kashmir to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. As part of the 3-month long ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan’ initiative, district and block officials, along with elected people’s representatives, will coordinate various awareness activities such as Gram Sabhas, Nukkad Natak, Paushtik Aahar Mela, Health camps, ICDS camps, Awareness Marches and Rallies, Exhibitions, Poster making, and Poem competitions. These activities will focus on 12 identified themes for 100% saturation across all Aspirational Blocks and Districts. NITI Aayog officials and Young Professionals will actively participate in the launch events in-person across 300 Districts to provide guidance and support to local governance in effectively organizing and implementing the campaign. Collaboration with relevant Central Ministries and Departments, as well as State and Union Territory governments, will not only enhance efforts to achieve the campaign’s goals but also promote the spirit of Competitive and Cooperative Federalism in ensuring socio-economic development in rural areas.
