Oppo recently released its flagship Reno phones for this year, the Reno 12 series. Similar to many other mid-range phones, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro offers great features like a strong battery, stunning display, and decent cameras. However, what sets this phone apart from its competitors is its focus on making premium AI features more user-friendly. Realme is also following suit with their Realme GT6. It is their first “AI phone”. Oppo Reno 12 pro specifications Currently, on-device AI features are mostly found on high-end smartphones. The most affordable option with these AI features built-in is likely the Google Pixel 8a, but it’s still quite pricey at over Rs 50,000. The Oppo Reno 12 Pro, on the other hand, brings these AI capabilities to the sub-Rs 40,000 segment. It is making them more accessible to a wider audience. AI features of Oppo Reno 12 pro The Oppo Reno 12 Pro is packed with a variety of AI features such as AI Best Face, AI Eraser 2.0, and AI Clear Face. For productivity, there are also AI Summary, AI Record Summary, AI Clear Voice, AI Writer, and AI Speak. I’ve been testing all these features during the review period, and I find them quite impressive. The AI Eraser 2.0 is an enhanced version of Oppo’s AI Eraser. It is similar to the Magic Eraser on Pixel phones. It’s a useful feature for removing unnecessary details from an image, although it may not work perfectly with low light images. However, in the image below, I was able to remove the scratch-tree from the background and the AI tool did a pretty impressive job of covering up the background.
