Flight delays caused by fog have led some individuals to opt for nearby destinations such as Goa, Ganpatipule, contributing to the overall spike in travel bookings during this extended weekend. Travel firms’ representatives report major bookings for well-loved destinations like Goa, Amritsar, Thailand, and Dubai, indicating a higher number of people planning getaways compared to previous long weekends.
Increased interest in Goa and Himachal Pradesh is noted by Syed Zakir Hussaini of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), attributing this trend to individuals unable to travel during the festive season
