Veer Savarkar movie review: Know what is inside of this patriotic movie. You will find solace in watching the three-hour-long ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’. You will definitely appreciate the efforts of Randeep Hooda’s performance as an actor as well as a director. It was his first film as a director. Veer Savarkar movie review The movie aims to shed light on the lesser-known story of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. He is the freedom fighter hailed as a true hero in our struggle against British rule. It almost reveres him as we learn about his dedication and challenges in striving for ‘Akhand Bharat’. The film delves into the alleged conspiracy. It surrounds his exclusion from India’s history and the roster of revered freedom fighters. Moreover, it portrays Savarkar’s ideological clashes with Mahatma Gandhi. He even questioned the latter’s title. The film also suggests Savarkar’s influence on many national heroes. These heroes are Khudiram Bose and Bhagat Singh to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. It is a claim that continues to be debated. ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ lacks substance. It prevents it from making a lasting impression even if it features some outstanding performances. The emotional effect of the representation of losing his kid while studying in London is lessened because it is only shown as a montage. ‘Vande Mataram’ chants and oath readings are all that remains of Savarkar and his allies’ conversation. It falls short of expressing their love and devotion for the nation. In the end, it appears to be an attempt to simplify Savarkar’s tale rather than fully examining its intricacies. Randeep Hooda does his utmost to capture the piercing look and curled lips of Savarkar. When he breaches the fourth wall and speaks to the audience directly, he really excels. But his performance is inconsistent and doesn’t live up to our expectations. He made the audacious decision to try juggling directing and acting duties, but sadly made mistakes in the process. Next, as Damodar’s older brother Ganesh, who acts as his rock, Amit Sial gives a remarkable performance. It’s enjoyable to see the moments between Randeep and Amit because they convey real feelings, especially when they get back together after serving nine years in prison. Despite having little on screen time, Ankita Lokhande gives a sincere performance. Mrinal Dutt, who plays Madan Lal Dhingra, does the same. The Congress is presented Savarkar as the antagonist and the cause of the division. It goes so far as to suggest that the party was complicit in Gandhi’s murder, even as Savarkar queries why wasn’t given security. The list of propaganda movies grows shortly before election season kicks off with the addition of “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar.”
