It is ahead of Vistara’s merger with Air India. According to reports, the salary components have been reduced while incentives linked to flying hours have been increased. A spokesperson from Vistara has confirmed the disruption in flight services. He stated that crew unavailability is one of the reasons.

“We have experienced a considerable number of flight cancellations. It has been delayed in the past few days due to various factors. It includes crew unavailability. We acknowledge and deeply regret the inconvenience caused to our customers,” the spokesperson stated. Multiple media reports indicate that a total of 38 flights have been canceled on Tuesday. 15 flights departing from Mumbai, 12 from Delhi, and 11 from Bengaluru are canceled. More Vistara flights from major cities may face cancellation as the airline grapples with the pilot crisis. The Civil Aviation Ministry has intervened to address the issue. The Ministry has requested the airline to provide a detailed report regarding the extensive flight cancellations and delays over the past week. Vistara’s representative mentioned that the airline is actively addressing the situation to minimize inconvenience for passengers. “We are dedicated to reducing any inconvenience caused to our passengers. As a temporary measure, we have decided to scale back our flight operations to ensure continued connectivity throughout our network. Additionally, we are utilizing larger aircraft such as the B787-9 Dreamliner and A321neo on specific domestic routes to either merge flights or accommodate more passengers, wherever feasible,” the representative stated. Furthermore, the spokesperson highlighted that Vistara is providing affected customers with alternative flight arrangements and refunds as necessary.
