The CEO of Nothing, Carl Pei, recently provided a sneak peek of the new OS following the announcement of the delay of Nothing Phone 3.
Nothing OS 3.0 features Through X, Pei showcased the initial design of Nothing OS 3.0. He unveiled some images and highlighting a key feature. The upcoming OS will bring a new Lock Screen customization feature, offering users the ability to personalize their Lock Screen with three different options. The company seems dedicated to improving the Lock Screen interface by adding more functionalities. Nothing OS 3.0 may introduce additional styles, however, Pei has only revealed three: Default, Clock+Widgets, and Expanded Widget Area. The default style features the standard clock, date, and day format, while the clock+widget style offers additional features. This style allows for font changes in the displayed time. In Pei’s images, this style showcases a dotted font clock along with a weather widget, contact widget, and a shortcut to quick action. Quick action enables users to customize the Lock Screen further. The third option, expanded widget area, is an enhanced version of the clock+widget style with larger tiles. As shown in Pei’s image, this style includes both analogue and digital clocks on the display, along with an expanded widget for time and day. Users have the ability to add more elements to the Lock Screen in this style. Nothing OS 3.0 release date The release date for Nothing OS 3.0 is expected in September 2024.
